Cheetah 12K garment sorter - How it works

How it works

Typical stages of a sort
(Note that all the steps mentioned below are fully automated):

The garments of the same batch exit the tunnel and are stored in a buffer zone on motorized rails waiting for the previous batch to complete its cycle.
When the sorter is available, the garments situated in the buffer zone are automatically directed to the sorter for the first sorting pass. The sorter is in charge of directing each garment to its respective line following the mathematical algorithm developed by Planiform. Each sort line is a power storage rail (PSR).
Once the first pass is completed all the garments are reintroduced into the system to be sorted once again. The mathematical algorithm decides the number of times this step is repeated.
Once all the passes are completed, the batch is moved to an exit line ready to be stored and so we start the whole process over (step 1).
