Direct drive power transmission (1)

The use of a gearmotor (direct drive) brings several advantages:

  • Better efficiency: The power transmitted by the motor is not dissipated in friction (belts, chain, etc.)
  • Noise reduction: Being a simpler mechanism, a direct drive has fewer components that can vibrate. The noise created by the system is reduced.

  • Longer life span: Having a smaller amount of parts, lower are the probabilities of eventually having faulty or fatigued parts on the system.
  • Increased stiffness: The stiffness and precision of the mechanism on the system is increased due to the fewer number of components that you now find on the conveyor.
  • More secure: There are no apparent moving parts like chains or pulleys thus giving a more secure system.

AC variable speed inverter (2)

All of Planiform's conveyors are equipped with an AC variable speed inverter giving them a controlled acceleration and deceleration (soft start and stop). This greatly prolongs the life span of the conveyor itself because the stress on working components is reduced.

Nylon yokes reinforced with fiberglass (3)

The yokes act as a mobile carrier and are by default, the components with the highest risk of collision or damage. This is why they were studied and redesigned under a new format giving them a better resistance using a special mix of plastic. The end result is increased durability.

Exclusive! Security guards (4)

Being attentive to our customers security needs, Planiform can equip your conveyor with an exclusive optional security guard that surrounds the conveyor and protects from the moving chain.

Small end section (5)

The end sections of a conveyor are heavier, especially the ones with motors; we have therefore reduced their total length in order to lighten the weight and to facilitate the installation. The shorter sections make the conveyor more versatile in the variety of shapes and sizes available.

Chain tensioner (6)

It's well known that all chains eventually stretch lightly over the years. When this occurs, the circumference of the tube on which the yokes travel needs to be augmented in circumference; this strenuous and difficult task will now be made easier and will only take a few minutes to complete with the integrated Paniform conveyor chain tensioner.

Longer span between the footings (7)

The ingenious conception of the Planiform conveyor frame provides a longer span (up to 10 feet or 3.05 meter) between the footings, thus reducing the overall cost of the machine and transportation while making the installation much easier.

Overall improved conception (8)

Putting together the conveyor is easy as it is modular; lateral bracing is unnecessary in most cases because of its improved conception.

Hardened steel chain (9)

  1. Hardened steel chain: The chains links are made of hardened steel giving it a considerable longer life span.
  2. Easy disassembly: Each section is easily disassembled for eventuel maintenance or replacement.
  3. Rods diameters: The rods are ½ inch in diameter (12.7mm) thus giving it greater sturdiness and their covers are made of nylon cylindrical bushings.
  4. Welding: The chain links are welded together.
