What will your responsibilities be?

This position is for creative, passionate engineers who are keen to take on technical challenges in the field of R&D mechanical design. Perfect for those who are fascinated by the creation and realization of innovative mechanical components, this role emphasizes the technical aspect of mechanical engineering rather than management. We're looking for candidates with a passion for excellence in the design and development of complex mechanical systems, ready to contribute to our ambition to remain world leaders in the automated handling of garments on hangers.

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration: Work closely with project managers and the existing R&D technical team (automation, mechanical, software, electrical) to develop a state-of-the-art robotic system to automate the storage of garments on hangers for global e-commerce platforms.
  • Research and development: Assume an active role in R&D, involving both computer-aided design work and hands-on experimentation in the company's dedicated laboratory to test and evaluate robot behavior. The aim is to finalize the development of an initial system right through to its market-ready status.
  • Integral mechanical design: Design complete mechanical tasks, including the creation of 3D and 2D drawings, the generation of bills of materials (BOMs) and the monitoring of production to ensure alignment with the project's quality and deadline objectives.
  • Modeling and assembly: Model and/or assemble mechanical components, using CAD software to develop and optimize technical solutions adapted to the specific needs of robotic systems.
  • Collaborative innovation: Actively participate in all brainstorming sessions for the project, contributing to idea generation and mechanical problem solving.
  • Validation and testing: Participate in the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) phases, scheduled at the first customer site to ensure compliance and performance of mechanical components prior to deployment.
  • Commissioning and support: Assist with system commissioning and provide ongoing technical support, being a key resource for the smooth running and optimization of installations.
  • Continuous improvement: Once the initial system is operational, participate in the continuous improvement of the mechanical components of the robotic system to support the company's ambition to remain a world leader.
  • Versatility and adaptability: Assume a variety of related tasks to support the progress of assigned projects, adapting strategies and techniques as needed to achieve team objectives.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Bilingual: French and English, to be able to communicate with suppliers and customers in the U.S.
  • Passionate and innovative
  • Be rigorous
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (Inventor an asset)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting software
  • Advanced knowledge of technical drawing
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Be a cheerful person!
